Tough Women

I received an email from a hotel bar in Ensenada, Mexico.

My cousin has moved her family there while they wait out the witch that wants to consume their San Diego home, as it has done to the homes of many of her neighbors. She says that now that her family is safe, she's going back to see what she can do to help. . .

She is not whining about inconvenience or loss. She is not asking for anything but thanking us for our messages of love and support. "We're really NOT a family of
victims-" she writes, "we are a family of survivors."

She calls us her "wonderful family of tough women."

But even tough women can use a prayer every now and then - my thoughts are with Bonnie today, and with all the people who sail on through the tempest. Godspeed.
